The Two-Pad Trick for Extra Dirty Floors
If your floors are especially dirty, try using two microfiber pads.
Use the first pad to remove the majority of dirt.
Then use a fresh, lightly damp pad for a final pass.
This prevents dirty water and residue from being spread repeatedly across the room.
It also leaves the floor looking noticeably cleaner.
Why Floors Sometimes Feel Sticky After Mopping
Sticky floors are often caused by one of three things:
Too Much Cleaner
Excess product remains behind after the water evaporates.
Dirty Mop Water
If the mop is repeatedly dipped into dirty water, grime can end up back on the floor.
Not Rinsing the Mop Pad
A saturated, dirty pad eventually stops cleaning efficiently.
Using fresh water and clean microfiber pads helps solve all three problems.
A Spray Bottle Makes This Even Easier
For quick everyday cleaning, I sometimes skip the bucket entirely.
Fill a spray bottle with a floor-safe cleaning solution diluted according to the product directions.
Lightly mist a small area of the floor and immediately wipe it with the microfiber mop.
The key word is lightly.
